Wilbur Flywheel is a completely self-contained act. Wilbur does not use any backing tracks and can either play a “real” grand piano or bring his own electric piano and PA system to your venue.
Watch Wilbur Flywheel perform “Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue”. This song was written over a hundred years ago and was hugely popular in the speakeasies of 1920’s America. It is one of my favourite songs from the roaring twenties.
Watch Wilbur Flywheel perform his version of “The House of the Rising Sun”. When the Animals recorded this in 1964 it became a huge No 1 hit in the UK, USA and all over the world. Many people think that the Animals wrote the song but it’s actually a traditional folk song that dates back to at least 1870. The song has many versions and tells the story of a missspent life in New Orleans.
Just piano (no vocals) sample tracks
In some situations you may only need piano music without vocals. This might be the case in a high-class restaurant or hotel foyer. Nothing can compare with the exquisite atmosphere of real live piano. While a real acoustic grand piano provides the ultimate in sophistication, where necessary, Wilbur is also able to bring his own electric piano and Bose PA system to produce sound that is indistiguishable from a “real” acoustic piano.

Golden Age of Music set
This two hour set reflects an era when music would create a unique ambience in restaurants, speakeasies and dance halls during the golden age of music. The American prohibition of 1920-1933 resulted in the speakeasy. A speakeasy would sell illegal alcohol and often entertain with live music.
This set is performed as a stand-up vocalist with backing tracks that have been specially recorded by real musicians using authentic instruments of the day (piano, double bass and drums) – sometimes with the addition of saxophone or acoustic guitar. This creates the perfect ambience for restaurants, sophisticated cocktail bars and similar venues.
While live music today is often associated with loud amplified electronic music, this set provides an alternative, fresh and unique live music experience that provides an entirely different ambience.
